The Grammy-winning singer is awaiting trial on federal sexual abuse charges.
Federal prosecutors on Wednesday announced charges against three men accused of threatening and intimidating women who have publicly accused Grammy-winning singer R. Kelly of sexual misconduct and abuse. “The men charged today allegedly have shown that there is no line they will not cross to help Kelly avoid the consequences of his alleged crimes—even if it means re-victimizing his accusers,” said Homeland Security Investigations special agent Peter Fitzhugh in a statement. Kelly has been in custody in a Chicago jail since he was arrested last summer and is scheduled for trial in New York, with jury selection starting on Sept.29. 9. The number of criminal counts Kelly is facing, including federal charges for the alleged sexual abuse of two minors and allegations from six different women in total.
