PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was announced earlier this year at E3 2017 as an Xbox One exclusive title. Microsoft will now lend additional support by becoming publisher of the game for the Xbox One.
At E3 2017, Microsoft announced that it would be bringing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to the Xbox One as a console exclusive. Since that time, it appears that the partnership between the two has gotten a little cozier with the game’s creator, Brendan Green, sharing that the Microsoft will now act as the publisher of the title for the Xbox One.
So what does this mean? As stated in the official release:
This is certainly good news for players and the developer, as it will hopefully blossom into a mutually beneficial partnership between the two. While those on Xbox One will have to wait a little while longer to play the game, the firm has stated that it will be available on the Xbox Game Preview program later this year. For those on a PC, the game is currently available as an Early Access title via Steam.
