Admission is a donation at the door to help Samaritan’s Purse.
A benefit concert to help hurricane and earthquake victims will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2501 Stone St., Port Huron.
Phil Larson, who is hosting the concert with his wife, Marsha, said admission is a donation at the door to help Samaritan’s Purse .
« They are all over in the Caribbean, Mexico, Puerto Rice, Texas, Florida, » he said. « They are pretty strained. We just hope we can help a little bit. »
Samaritan’s Purse on its website describes itself as « a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. »
The concert will feature the Pine River Legacy Band and Ourselves, Larson said.
« The Pine River Legacy Band, that’s a traditional string band, » Larson said. They play Celtic and Irish music and Americana music
« The second group is Ourselves. Ourselves has been performing in the area for a long time They do Irish and Americana folk music. »
Larson said he expects people will give to the cause.
« We’ve actually found that when we’ve done a few of these in the past people are very generous, » he said.
