A West Virginia man is facing a decade behind bars after police say he beat his pregnant girlfriend with a baseball bat and injected her with methamphetamine.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by WOWK, 21-year-old Kyle Stowers struck his girlfriend, who was 37 weeks pregnant, several times in the head, face and torso in a violent attack on Dec. 21 at their home in Charleston, WV.
Police say Stowers used a wooden baseball bat in the attack.
Before fleeing the scene, Stowers « unwillingly injected what [the victim] states was methamphetamine into her right arm, » the West Virginia Gazette Mail reports.
The victim told police that Stowers « left her for dead » at the home.
Stowers was apprehended by Charleston Police that same night on charges of malicious wounding and is being held at the South Central Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
The victim’s current condition, and the condition of her unborn baby, has not been released.
