The snow is winning in North Carolina.
Like many people around the country, NASCAR drivers in the Charlotte, North Carolina area woke up to a blanket of snow on the ground Wednesday morning. The impact of snow is always relative to what the area is used to, but it’s ironically not going great for NASCAR drivers on the road.
Like the good Samaritan he often is, Dale Earnhardt Jr. helped a car get out of a snowy ditch this morning, according to fellow driver Ryan Blaney, who also happens to be Junior’s neighbor.
In case y’all didn’t think @DaleJr was a great person already, just saw him covered in snow trying to help a car get out of a ditch. Said he didn’t need my help. Haha
It wasn’t me in the ditch either
But not long after finishing his good deed, the snow got the best of Earnhardt, too. The newly retired driver tweeted that minutes after helping the people out of the ditch, he ran into a tree himself.
While the damage to the car is unknown, Earnhardt reassured everyone that he’s OK.
NC stay off the roads today/tonight. 5 minutes after helping these folks I center punched a pine tree. All good. Probably just needs a new alignment. pic.twitter.com/OfA5Q28jew
All good
Earnhardt and co. certainly weren’t alone in having issues in the snow, but he also wasn’t the only one to lend a hand.
Driver Daniel Suárez tweeted a photo of his car stuck in the snow Wednesday, and, apparently after realizing Dale Jr. didn’t need any help, Blaney offered help to his buddy as well.
