Geekbench listing suggests that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer is currently working on a device with a model number SM-J805G. The handset is expected to be the Galaxy J8 Plus. Back in January, Galaxy J8 also made its way to Geekbench. We can expect Samsung to launch both these J-series phones in the days to come.
We have already heard a lot about the Galaxy J8 in the past. Rumours suggest that the upcoming Galaxy J8 will be a very basic device and will also cost less, basically will fall under the budget segment. Details of the Plus variant, aka Galaxy J8 Plus has now been spotted on Geekbench. The benchmark listing reveals a few key specifications that the upcoming handset may come packed with.
The listing reveals that the smartphone J8 Plus will come with a model number Samsung SM-J805G and run Android 8.0 Oreo OS out-of-the-box. The Plus model, like the Galaxy J8 will be a budget segment device. A budget segment phone coming with Oreo is surely a big deal. The benchmark listing suggests that the smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 1.8GHz base frequency and Adreno 506 GPU.
Apart from the running on Snapdragon 625 processor, the Geekbench listing suggests that the upcoming Galaxy J8 Plus will be coupled with 4GB RAM. No further details about the J8 Plus have been revealed by the benchmark listing.
Geekbench shows that the upcoming smartphone manages to score around 749 points on a single core, while around 3708 points in multi-core test. This hints that the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy J8 Plus will be a budget friend, which yet again means it will be an affordable handset.
Almost around a month ago, we had seen Galaxy J8 make its way to Geekbench. The Galaxy J8 was spotted with a model number SM-J720F. The same was suggested by the GFXBench as well. The benchmark listing reveals that the upcoming Galaxy J8 will sport a 5.5-inch display with a 720×1280 pixels resolution and may come with « at least 5 finger gesture support. » The Galaxy J8 (2018) could be powered by Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 7885 SoC featuring an octa-core 1.6GHz CPU coupled with 4 GB RAM. On the camera front, the smartphone may feature a 12-megapixel on the rear panel, while may include an 8-megapixel secondary camera on the front. Galaxy J8 may pack in 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD card.
