Russia Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov blamed the United States, the United Kingdom, and France for any actions Russia takes in response to the missile strike on Syria.
The Russian embassy posted Antonov’s statement on Twitter, which stated the “worst apprehensions have come true” because Russia’s warnings were “left unheard.”
It leveled that a “re-designed scenario” was being carried out and Russia is being threatened, again.
“We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences,” it continued. “All responsibility for them rests with Washington, London, and Paris.”
The statement concluded that the United States, which it said has amassed the most chemical weapons of any country, has “no moral right to blame other countries.”
On Friday, President Donald Trump in conjunction with British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macron ordered a missile strike in Syria in response to the chemical weapons attack.
During a public address, Trump said Russia and Syria are responsible for enabling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s “criminal” regime.
“I ask what kind of a nation wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men, women, and children?” he wondered.
According to CNN, three sites were targeted in the attack:
Trump said during his address that the allied nations are ready to continue missile strikes “until the Syrian regime stops its use of prohibited chemical agents.”
