A man has been arrested after crashing his car into a North Carolina restaurant, killing two people – including his daughter – and injuring several others Sunday, authorities said.
Roger Self was with his family at the Surf and Turf restaurant in Gaston County before leaving and then coming back to intentionally ram his vehicle into the eatery after 12 p.m., officials said.
One of the victims is Self’s daughter – Kaitlyn Self – who was a deputy with the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office for four years. Authorities didn’t name a second victim.
Self was taken into custody soon after the crash. Authorities said the incident appeared to be domestic related.
