Bethesda announces the Wolfhunter DLC will be releasing next week August 13 on PC and 28 on console, along with details of the upcoming Murkmire add-on at QuakeCon 2018.
The Elder Scrolls Online has been quietly chugging along since 2014, remaining a fresh experience for players thanks to consistent content updates and DLC packs. Coming August 13 on PC and August 28 on console, the Wolfhunter expansion will take the series back to its lycanthropic roots, with werewolf battles being a primary component.
Along with the Wolfhunter announcement, Bethesda also gave a brief look into the upcoming Murkmire add-on, detailed new benefits for ESO Plus subscribers, and announced a free-to-play weekend for Elder Scrolls Online.
Bethesda revealed the Wolfhunter DLC pack at QuakeCon 2018 via an official trailer and a sooner-than-expected release date. The roughly minute-long trailer doesn’t skimp on werewolf footage but also features some never-before-seen characters and areas.
When Elder Scrolls Online ditched the subscription fee back in 2015, they introduced ESO Plus, a paid service that would include all future DLC packs and add-ons. That means ESO Plus subscribers will have access to the add-on when it releases next week, and everyone else with a copy of the game can pick up the latest expansion via the in-game Crown Store for 14.99.
The Wolfhunter DLC comes just five months after the next most recent expansion, Summerset, which expanded the narrative and introduced an entirely new region. In contrast, Wolfhunter will take players through two new four-man dungeons where they’ll face off against Hircine in what is by far his largest, most intimidating form.
Bethesda revealed a sneak peek into the upcoming Murkmire add-on, which will take players to a new zone in the Argonian homeland, Black Marsh, and introduce a new story to the mix. The Murkmire add-on is expected to feature the mysterious Lizard Men and expand on their lore. With the release of Murkmire, ESO Plus members will also see a boost in their allotted monthly crowns from 1,500 to 1,650.
This Fall, your adventures will bring you to the dangerous, untamed wilds of Black Marsh, home of the Argonians.
