Google has replaced their homepage logo today with a slideshow Doodle that captures the beauty of the Galápagos Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On this day in 1978, the Galápagos Islands were officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To celebrate the 42 year anniversary, Google has replaced their homepage logo with a slideshow Doodle that captures the beauty of the Galápagos Islands.
The unique variety of animals found on the archipelago has been attributed to its isolated location roughly 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, remaining undiscovered by mankind until 1535.
