President Donald Trump on Friday conceded that his efforts to get North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons have so far failed \u2014 but\u2026<\/b>
\nPresident Donald Trump on Friday conceded that his efforts to get North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons have so far failed \u2014 but he nonetheless had nice words to say about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
In a Friday afternoon tweet storm, the president revealed that he has \u201casked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo not to go to North Korea, at this time, because I feel we are not making sufficient progress with respect to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.\u201d
Trump then put the blame on China for the impasse in progress on the North Korea deal, as he claimed that the Chinese government was secretly helping North Korea as retaliation against the United States over tariffs placed on Chinese imports.
Despite all this, however, Trump still heaped praise on Kim Jong-un.
\u201cIn the meantime I would like to send my warmest regards and respect to Chairman Kim,\u201d Trump wrote. \u201cI look forward to seeing him soon!\u201d
