Streaming service will release \u00ab\u00a0Springsteen on Broadway\u00a0\u00bb on Dec. 16<\/b>
\nThe Boss is Coming to Town! And just in time for Christmas.
Bruce Springsteen\u2019s Broadway show is landing on Netflix and the streaming service dropped the first look trailer of \u201cSpringsteen on Broadway\u201d Tuesday, showing the intimate performance that earned him a Tony Award
Springsteen concludes his run on Broadway on Dec. 15, and Netflix will make their recorded special available the next day, Dec. 16.
Springsteen\u2019s show is based on his autobiography \u201cBorn to Run,\u201d featuring personal anecdotes about his family, his hometown and the state of the country, all spliced in between acoustic renditions of songs like \u201cBorn to Run, \u201cThunder Road\u201d and \u201cBrilliant Disguise.\u201d It also features a special appearance and performance by Patti Scialfa.

\u201cI want to know my story, your story, and where we\u2019re going together as a people,\u201d Bruce says in the trailer for the special. \u201cMore than anything else, I wanted to be able to tell that story to you.\u201d
\u201cSpringsteen on Broadway\u201d was filmed live for Netflix at Jujamcyn\u2019s Walter Kerr Theatre and directed and produced by Emmy Award-winner Thom Zimny, who also directed the concert special from 2001 \u201cBruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: Live in New York City.\u201d In addition to Zimny, the Netflix original special is produced by the same team that produced \u201cSpringsteen On Broadway,\u201d including Springsteen manager Jon Landau, Springsteen tour director George Travis, and Landau Management partner Barbara Carr.
