Glen Schofield, Sledgehammer Games co-founder and former VP of Dead Space studio Visceral Games, is leaving Activision at the end of this month.<\/b>
\nSledgehammer Games co-founder Glen Schofield will depart Activision at the end of the month.
Schofield, who was also the former vice president and GM at Dead Space studio EA Visceral Games, has been with Activision since the company purchased his studio in November 2009.
He and Michael Condrey, who is now in an executive role at Activision, formed Sledgehammer Games in 2009. Back in February, like Condrey, he had moved on from the studio into an executive role at the publisher after finishing up Call of Duty: WW2.
Now, he is leaving the company.
\u201cI feel it\u2019s time to try something new,\u201d Schofield stated on Twitter . \u201cI\u2019ll be leaving Activision end of December and taking some time off to relax. Then off to something else exciting.\u201d
In an interview with Gamespot, Schofield said he has \u201cnothing but good things to say\u201d about his time at Activision,\u201d but after nine years of Call of Duty games he \u201cneeds a change.\u201d
\u201cI seriously am going to take my time finding my next gig,\u201d he said. \u201cMake sure it\u2019s exactly what I want to do. I still have a couple good games in me.\u201d
