The Government and activist groups have been trying lately to prevent them. The latest example comes from the Pennsylvania State. A new bill has been proposed that presents a sale tax on video games that include violence.
Pennsylvania state politician, Christopher B. Quinn (R) believes that one way to stop violence is by imposing a tax on violent video games. This bill was presented by Christopher B. Quinn. The bill indicates that there should a 10% sales tax imposed on violent video games. Though this bill was brought back in September, it’s now getting discussed on the internet.
Since September, many other state representatives have shown interest in it. As for tax, the raised funds will be used for the school safety and to prevent further tragic events from happening.
The purpose of imposing this tax is to protect the school’s systems and it can also play a great role in causing the video game developers to stop including violence in their future video games.
He also added a quote from a study as follows.
It’s questionable that how it will work on the previously released titles or the ones that are being sold online via different marketplaces. Anyways for now this is just a bill known as 2705 yet. We have to see if people really vote for it not. If it does gain the interest of other state representatives then we can see this 10% tax being effective soon.
Mass school shootings are a big issue in the United States nowadays. Recently we saw some students mistaking a drawing as a hint for an upcoming school shooting.
That misconception took place at the East Clinton High School from Ohio. A big fan of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was really excited about the game. He ended up drawing its logo on the whiteboard along with its release date which everyone thought to be the date when he’s planning to do a mass school shooting.
Gladly, it was nothing like that and the principal had to send emails to everyone to tell that it was nothing more than a video game release date.
School shootings are really a concern these days and it’s no surprise that government officials want to control it by imposing taxes like above to stop further incidents from happening.
Source: NicheGamer

Pennsylvania state politician, Christopher B.
