And when the laptop is made by Apple, the whole thing becomes even more alarming for everyone.<br \/>The MacBook Pro used by DJ White Panda caught fire while being used on his lap plugged in, \u201cspewing smoke out both sides,\u201d as he explains in a detailed posting on reddit.<br \/>While fortunately no one was injured, the fire caused some damage to White Panda\u2019s home and triggered the smoke and CO alarms.<br \/>After taking the smoking laptop outside and letting it cool down for approximately an hour, the owner took it to the local Apple Store, with the staff there putting the device a fireproof safe and promising to return with more information.<br \/>\u201cThey did not call. I reached out today and was told it had been \u00ab\u00a0escalated\u00a0\u00bb and I should hear something within FIVE days. I produce music for a living &#8211; FIVE days without my computer is unacceptable,\u201d White Panda explains.<br \/>While Apple hasn\u2019t offered a statement on this incident, it\u2019ll be interesting to see how the company handles the whole case, especially because the story has already been picked up by media all over the world.
