\nA JetBlue passenger allegedly frustrated over a failed phone call attacked a flight attendant and then rushed toward the cockpit while asking to be shot in both Spanish and Arabic. Flight 261 out of Boston was just more than an hour away from its destination in San Juan, Puerto Rico when the mid-air chaos unfolded Wednesday evening. A flight attendant onboard told the FBI a man, identified as Khalil El Dahr, attempted to make a phone call and \u201cbecame angry about the call\u2019s unsuccess.\u201d About 30 minutes later, he charged down the aisle of seats and toward the cockpit, ABC News reported. El Dahr arrived at the door just as a flight attendant was exiting. He allegedly grabbed the airline employee by their collar and tie with one hand, and placed his other hand on the overhead compartment to lift himself up to kick the attendant in the chest. Then El Dahr called out, asking for the pilot to shoot him. \u201cWhile he was yelling, he was still holding the JetBlue flight attendant by their tie,\u201d according to an FBI affidavit. \u201cThis resulted in the tie tightening and ultimately prevented the JetBlue flight attendant from breathing.\u201d The airline employee was able to \u201ccorral\u201d the man back over to the passenger side of the plane, but it ultimately took assistance from five or six others to restrain El Dahr. Amid their efforts, the unruly passenger was able bust free from the first pair of flex cuffs, forcing the crew to use four seat-belt extenders, a new pair of flex cuffs and a uniform neck tie to restrain him to a seat. No injuries were reported and authorities arrested El Dahr when the plane finally touched down in San Juan.<\/p>\n
