\nNEW CASTLE, Ind. \u2014 An Ohio man was killed Friday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Henry County. Craig S. Simon,58 \u2014 of Powell, Ohio,14 miles north of Columbus \u2014 was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which took place shortly before noon in the eastbound lanes near the 115-mile marker, according to Indiana State Police. Investigators said Simon, driving a 2021 Kia Sorento, \u00ab\u00a0failed to notice traffic had stopped as a result of an active construction zone,\u00a0\u00bb and drove into the rear of a tractor-trailer driven by Joseph Lizon III,39, of Wellsburg Brooke, West Virginia. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash, state police said, but Lizon was taken to Henry County Hospital for a blood draw, standard procedure after crashes resulting in serious injury or death. In addition to state police, Henry County sheriff’s deputies, Henry County EMS, Knightstown firefighters and the Henry County coroner’s office responded to the scene.
