\nBillionaire investor Mark Cuban has suggested that the U.S.-Mexico border crisis under the Biden-Harris administration came about because their \u00ab\u00a0hearts are too big.\u00a0\u00bb
Cuban is an entrepreneur, investor and media personality best known for his role as the former owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and as one of the main \u00ab\u00a0sharks\u00a0\u00bb on the hit television show Shark Tank. He made his fortune in the late 1990s, when he co-founded Broadcast.com, an early internet streaming service. The company was later sold to Yahoo for $5.7 billion in stock, catapulting Cuban into the ranks of the world’s wealthiest individuals.
\u00ab\u00a0Look, here’s my opinion; I’m not speaking for the campaign with this\u00a0\u00bb, Cuban said on CNN on October 17. \u00ab\u00a0I thought their hearts were too big when Joe came into office that they didn’t know how many people would cross the border and it got away from them. But they figured it out, they learned.\u00a0\u00bb
\u00ab\u00a0What did they do? He put together an executive order, and now the number of border crossings is down to where they were in the Trump [administration], maybe a little lower. She [Harris] says she’s going to sign the border bill, which is very clear where she stands now.\u00a0\u00bb
Immigration is one of the most important issues in this year’s election, as former president Donald Trump has pledged to carry out the largest mass deportation plans in history if he wins a second term, while Harris said she will revive the failed border security bill.
Cuban slammed Trump’s flagship deportation plans and said the GOP nominee hasn’t \u00ab\u00a0thought this through\u00a0\u00bb in a scathing assessment of the policy.
\u00ab\u00a0I don’t think he’s thought this through, whereas Vice President Harris, she understands that this has to be a consistent program that everybody understands that is put forward, that everybody can feel safe with, but that you have to follow law. You have to go through the front door\u00a0\u00bb, Cuban said.
\u00ab\u00a0You have to follow the legal processes, but she’s not going to send the militia to pull people out of their homes like Donald Trump might.\u00a0\u00bb
His remarks appear likely to raise eyebrows among Republicans, who have accused the Biden-Harris administration of carrying out a \u00ab\u00a0mass parole scheme\u00a0\u00bb and offering migrants a mass amnesty.
It comes as the growing demand for stricter immigration controls has become bipartisan. A recent Gallup poll revealed a 15-point increase in Republicans favoring less immigration, an 11-point rise among independents, and a 10-point uptick among Democrats compared with last year.
Polls indicate that Trump is seen as more trustworthy on the issue of immigration. A Yahoo News\/YouGov survey showed that 51 percent of respondents believe Trump would handle immigration more effectively, while 38 percent favor Harris.
Meanwhile, Cuban separately warned on Real Time With Bill Maher that a second Trump presidential term will be a \u00ab\u00a0new season of The Sopranos.\u00a0\u00bb
Cuban has repeatedly criticized Trump’s economic policy throughout the campaign.<\/p>\n
