Republican Sen. Rick Scott of Florida is predicting that democracy will come to Cuba and that the regime will fall on the island nation in 2026 or 2027.<\/b>
\nSen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., is predicting that the Cuban regime will fall, possibly in 2026 or 2027.
Scott had said during an appearance last year on \u00ab\u00a060 Minutes\u00a0\u00bb that Venezuelan leader Nicol\u00e1s Maduro’s days were \u00ab\u00a0numbered\u00a0\u00bb, predicting that \u00ab\u00a0whether it’s internal or external\u00a0\u00bb, something would \u00ab\u00a0happen.\u00a0\u00bb
He also predicted that the removal of Maduro would \u00ab\u00a0be the end of Cuba.\u00a0\u00bb
So far, the first part of the senator’s prediction has been fulfilled, as the U.S. captured Venezuelan dictator Nicol\u00e1s Maduro and extradited him to New York last week.
Scott stood by his prognostication during a Tuesday appearance on NewsNation, forecasting that the end of the \u00ab\u00a0D\u00edaz-Canel regime\u00a0\u00bb will \u00ab\u00a0happen.\u00a0\u00bb
\u00ab\u00a0Everything takes longer than you think\u00a0\u00bb, Scott said, noting that he thinks the Cuban regime will probably fall \u00ab\u00a0maybe this year, maybe next year.\u00a0\u00bb
\u00ab\u00a0So who knows when it’s gonna happen. But we’re gonna get democracy\u00a0\u00bb, Scott said.
