A$AP Rocky revealed his mother Renee Black told him to date Rihanna long before she became the rapper\u2019s partner and the mother of his children.
\u201cMy mother used to say s\u2013t like, \u2018I know you like this girl that you [are] with right now\u2019 \u2014 I ain\u2019t gon\u2019 say no names \u2014 \u2018but I want you with RiRi’,\u201d he said on Thursday\u2019s episode of The New York Times\u2019 \u201cPopcast.\u201d
\u201cIt\u2019s like, \u2018Ma, why you keep saying that? That girl don\u2019t even want me like that’,\u201d he said.
\u201cMothers know best,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cI\u2019m thankful that [Rihanna] was put in my life at that time because any time prior to that I don\u2019t think I was ready for something like that. I don\u2019t think she was either.\u201d
Rocky, 37, and Rihanna, also 37, were longtime friends for nearly a decade before they decided to make things romantic in 2020.
However, elsewhere in his interview, the \u201cASAP Forever\u201d star said the singer \u201cwas always my boo,\u201d and he \u201calways f\u2014ed with her.\u201d
\u201cWe were on the same page. Born the same year. My dad is from her country \u2026 When I go back, I get to see both sides of my family. It\u2019s so many similarities, it\u2019s just funny. We laugh about it a lot,\u201d he said of their similarities.
The couple has welcomed three children together since the start of their relationship: sons RZA Athelston, 3, and Riot Rose, 2; and 4-month-old daughter Rocki Irish.
And it seems that the parents aren\u2019t done expanding their family yet. Earlier this week, Rihanna hinted that she\u2019s ready to bring in baby No. 4.
The \u201cLove on the Brain\u201d hitmaker was spotted in the comments section under \u201cLove Island\u201d alum Montana Brown\u2019s post questioning if she wanted to \u201cget hot and sexy or get pregnant in 2026.\u201d
