\nThere are hundreds of Treasure Chests and other interesting items to be found in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined, and even though most of them can be easily spotted while exploring, others require a little bit of finesse and the help of Ruff’s Nose for Treasure skill.
Every map has a certain number of chests, and finding them all will be quite challenging. This guide will offer some insight on how to use Ruff’s skill to discover all the hidden treasures in DQ7 Reimagined.
How To Track Missing Chests in Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined<\/p>\n

From the moment players recruit Ruff after liberating L’Arca from its curse, players will have two exchangeable active skills that pop up in the upper left corner of the screen:
Whistle (attracts enemies in the overworld).<\/p>\n

Nose for Treasure (detects nearby hidden treasure and reveals the amount remaining in the zone). <\/p>\n

Players need to access their Game Menu, then go to System, and then Shortcuts. In the second Shortcut, change Whistle to ‘Nose for Treasure.’ It will be automatically bound to Button 2 (PC) or Right Arrow (Console).
Now, head to any location and try it out. A message will pop up saying something like this: ‘Ruff has a nose around for treasure. There are another 2 treasures that haven’t been found yet nearby. That makes 3 treasures total waiting to be found in this wider location.’
The first part indicates that in the current instance (map inside a wider location), there are 2 treasure chests hidden (or golden sparkly items in the ground, or Mini Medals\/Items hidden in Vases, Barrels, or Cabinets).
The second part indicates that in the wider location (island), there are a total of 3 remaining hidden treasures that remain to be found. If there’s no treasure in the smaller instance (like a house) that players are currently visiting, the ability will also reveal that.
If players then delve into a building, and use Nose for Treasure once more, it will reveal if there’s treasure in that building by revealing how many treasures are nearby. The second part won’t change unless players find one of the treasures in the island.
This sort of metal-detector-like minigame can be used to narrow down the location of hidden Chests, Vases, Cabinets, and important items.
To search for treasure in a wider location (overworld) players will need to repeat the process, checking the world map with Ruff’s ability, then entering locations one by one to narrow down the area of detection.
