If you were looking for a solid modern replacement for your SNES, Analogue might have the proper solution. The Super Nt offers a sleek design, an original cartridge slot, controller ports, and HDMI.
Analogue Interactive has been making niche consoles for the past few years. While retro is usually an easy sell, the firm’s meticulous attention to detail ensures that this isn’t a company that is in it for the quick buck. It has constantly taken things to the next level by pursuing the best possible gaming experience for its customers, whether it be machining a case from aluminum or giving users an array of output options, the company means business.
With Nintendo recently releasing its SNES Classic Edition, it comes as no surprise that there is a bit of nostalgia in the air for the old console and its games. As you might have guessed from the image, Analogue is releasing something new, the Super Nt, which is a device that is designed to accept physical cartridges and output that signal to modern day televisions at a max of resolution of 1080p.
But there are plenty of consoles on the market that do this now, so what makes the Super Nt different? For starters, it features a zero-lag feature that allows players to experience games just how they felt on the original console. There are also options for configuring the video like aspect ratio preservation, changing video resolutions, adding scan lines, scaler options, and more. But the experience isn’t simply about the video, there’s something special with the audio from those games. For this reason, the console is capable of outputting 16-bit stereo digital audio at 48KHz. Perhaps best of all, the console will be considerably cheaper than its previous offerings starting at $189.99.
The console is now currently available to pre-order in four colors and will start shipping in February.
