SAVE ON DESIGNER EYEGLASSES
People literally stop me in the street to ask where I got my cool cat eye sparkly glasses, and I always tell them they’re from See Eyewear at Fashion Island. I’m really not a Newport Beach kind of shopper, but I made a special trip to this shop, which has surprisingly affordable hip glasses. And, to make it even better, they’re having a special discount trunk sale Oct. 19-22 only, including $40 off a complete pair of frame and lenses, or $125 off two pairs value $275 or more. And, sorry, they’re glasses, I refuse to say “eyewear.” This trunk sale is also in Glendale and L.A. Learn more: seeeyewear.com/trunk-show
I GOOFED
Last week, I told you about a 2-for-1 deal on Thursday nights at Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, where two people can get in for only $38 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. until Oct. 28. Sweet, right? But I also gave you the wrong days of the week for the late night soaks, they’re open Thursday through Saturday, until Oct. 28. So go and enjoy! But don’t go on Sunday nights, they don’t offer late nights then.
CHEAPER SOAKING
If you like Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, but you don’t like how pricey it’s become to visit, take note: It will be open next summer until 9 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, and offer a discounted $35 entry rate to soak from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. I like that better anyway, because it’s so hot during the day. New hours start June 2. Learn more: Glenivy.com/glen-ivy-hot-springs/
FAIRMONT DEAL
Who doesn’t love swanky hotels like the Fairmont chain? Well, I don’t like the price. But right now they’re running a 30 percent off super sale on certain properties, if you book by Oct. 20 and stay between Dec. 8 and March 11. This includes two Fairmonts in San Francisco and numerous other locations around the world. You must prepay a deposit and no changes allowed. Learn more by calling 888-270-2289 or visit Fairmont.com/promotions/super-sale. And, if you want to see deals like this regularly and get discounts on every trip, sign up for their free loyalty club.
WAREHOUSE SALE
Head down Thursday through Sunday to the RVCA apparel warehouse sale in Santa Ana, with great deals. Times:, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, I’d get there early. Cough, cough. I feel a cold coming on right, now, boss. Location: 1400 Village Way, Santa Ana. I saw this on WHSale.com, check them out. No bags inside, and do not wear RVCA.
SAVE ON SCARES
If you want to save money on the Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest, ponder this: If you go on Halloween itself, you can save $30. Seriously. If you buy online in advance, admission including the maze pass costs $107 on Saturdays, Oct. 21 or 28 – but it’s only $76 on October 31st. Gee, that’s enough to pay for parking and maybe buy one French fry. Learn more: sixflags.com/magicmountain/special-events/fright-fest-night
