Apple’s new Apple iMac Pro will apparently include an A10 Fusion processor as part of its hardware. The inclusion of the ARM based chip looks like it gives Apple more control over the macOS boot and security process, and allows it to experiment with more control over its operating system.
According to the article on 9to5Mac, another reason for the A10 Fusion is that Apple will have an always-on “Hey Siri” on the iMac Pro. This is confirmed thanks to two software developers who saw the information via the Bridge 2.0 software package from Apple.
During the launch in June, Apple shared that the iMac Pro will be packed with high-end hardware. Alongside a 27-inch Retina 5K display, there will be an Intel Xeon processor, as well as AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 GPU with HBM2-based 16GB VRAM. It will also have RAM ranging from 32GB on the base model, all the way to 128GB DDR4-2666 ECC memory. Storage options varies, with 4TB SATA drives available as well.
The Apple iMac Pro will start from USD 4,999 (about RM 21,314) when it ships this coming December.
