Gigi Hadid isn’t headed to Shanghai after all.
The model announced Thursday that she won’t be participating in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after all.
“I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year. Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!!” the 22-year-old tweeted.
“Can’t wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can’t wait for next year!”
Gigi Hadid faces lawsuit for allegedly swiping photographer’s pic
Hadid had previously announced in August that she would walk in the show again, which caused a stir after she was accused of mocking Asians in February.
“Forever and ever and ever a dream come true to be asked back to the VS Show,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
“Thank you my friends @ed_razek @10magazine @johndavidpfeiffer @monica.mitro for another unforgettable opportunity; every aspect makes me feel like a dreaming kid again.”
While it’s unclear why Hadid is no longer participating, she faced backlash in February when sister Bella posted a video of her squinting her eyes while holding a Buddha-shaped cookie.
Vogue apologizes for Gigi and Zayn ‘gender-fluid’ cover
She waited until September — after it was announced that she would be participating in the fashion show in China — to apologize.
“It hurts me to hurt anyone, and I want you all to know that it was never my intent to offend anyone through my actions and I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt or felt let down by me,” she wrote on the Chinese social media site Weibo.
“I have the utmost respect and love for the people of China and cherish the incredible memories I have made while visiting in the past. I have learned to be very careful of how my actions can come off or be portrayed and I’m hopeful you’ll accept my apology.”
The other models, including Bella, Karlie Kloss and Martha Hunt, are already on their way to Shanghai for the show.
