Back in July 2016, Samsung announced two new handsets in its mid-range segment, the Galaxy C7, and the Galaxy C5. The update is being rolled out as we file this report and is expected to reach all users over the weekend. In case you happen to own a Galaxy C7 (which is unlikely if you are in India because the phone was never officially launched here), and have not yet received an update notification, all you need to do is to go to Settings -> Software Update and do a manual update.
The new update package is more than a GB in size and adds a lot of new features, apart from the obvious update to a newer Android version. One of the new additions is support for Samsung’s popular Always-On Display feature. Other features include support for multi-window apps and a device that is faster and snappier overall.

This phone came with a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC for number crunching. There was 4GB of RAM and the phone came in two storage options – 32GB and 64GB. Other notable features include a primary 16-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter.
