A 6-year-old Siberian husky from West Michigan who likes to sing along to acoustic guitar tunes has won a national contest for his singing prowess.
The «LIVE with Kelly and Ryan» show on ABC held a «Bow Wow Wow» contest to find dogs who can sing and encouraged viewers to send their videos in for an online vote.
And Rico — the husky from Scottville, located just east of Ludington — was voted the winner, announced today.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you owe it to yourself to watch Rico in action .
Rico is owned by Jason ‘Harv” and Melanie Hargreaves, according to the Ludington Daily News, and has a knack for trying to mimic his family’s sing-a-longs.
“Rico does not sing with the radio. He only sings with us,” Melanie told the Daily News. “When Harv rehearses, (Rico) joins in. In the video, Harv was learning that song for a gig that night. I had to hide my phone while recording.”

According to the video description on the «Bow Wow Wow» contest website, Rico «is extremely vocal. He is highly intelligent and has a knack for mimicking his pack (his family). He loves classic rock and pop hits from the 70’s and 80’s.»
The Hargreaves get to enjoy a six-day vacation to St. Lucia for winning the contest.
