Alyssa Milano, Kerry Washington and Mark Ruffalo are just a few of the celebrities who have endorsed Jones.
Celebrities are delving into politics once again; this time to endorse Doug Jones, the Democratic hopeful for the open Alabama Senate seat.
Jones — whose opponent, Roy Moore, who has received President Donald Trump’s support even though he was accused of sexually assaulting a teenager — is getting personalized endorsement videos from some of Hollywood’s biggest names, just in time for Tuesday’s election.
“I’m supporting Doug Jones because he’s always stood up for justice,” Connie Britton said in one of the videos .
Kerry Washington spoke to Jones’ platform including education, health care and equal pay. “Get out there and vote, use your voice, and help this country be what you know it can be,” she said.
Another “Scandal” star, Bellamy Young, implored voters to “Show the world who Alabama is. Send Doug Jones to Senate.”
“This could change the future of our country,” comedian Keegan-Michael Key said in another video .
Actor Misha Collins called the choice between the two candidates “stark” saying, “You can either vote for accused pedophile, Judge Roy Moore, or you can vote for a guy who spent his career locking up Klansmen: Doug Jones.”
Mark Ruffalo spoke directly to Alabama college students, saying, “When I’m not playing a superhero, I volunteer my time helping the real superheroes create positive change in our world. And that’s why I urge you vote in this Tuesday’s special election for Doug Jones for United States Senator.”
In addition to the videos on Jones’ Twitter account, others — including Alyssa Milano, Uzo Aduba and Charles Barkley — have campaigned for Jones in Alabama .
Some celebs have taken to their own social media accounts to express their endorsement as well.
“NO MOORE. NO WILL SUFFICE. NO IS ENOUGH,” Uma Thurman wrote in part on Instagram.
Comedian Billy Eichner took to Twitter to say, “Alabama, please do not vote for a child molester. He was banned from a mall for preying on underage girls. It’s just too awful and it’s really fucking disgusting. Please be better than that. I’m not optimistic. Prove me wrong.”
“If you believe all people are equal, whether they’re gay, straight, black, white, male or female, I hope you’ll get out tomorrow and vote for Doug Jones,” Ellen DeGeneres wrote on Twitter .
