The victim, who was 37 weeks pregnant, told police her boyfriend «left her for dead» after the attack.
A West Virginia man is facing a decade behind bars after police say he beat his pregnant girlfriend with a baseball bat and injected her with methamphetamine.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by WOWK, 21-year-old Kyle Stowers struck his girlfriend, who was 37 weeks pregnant, several times in the head, face and torso in a violent attack on Dec. 21 at their home in Charleston, WV.
Police say Stowers used a wooden baseball bat in the attack.
Before fleeing the scene, Stowers «unwillingly injected what [the victim] states was methamphetamine into her right arm,» the West Virginia Gazette Mail reports.
The victim told police that Stowers «left her for dead» at the home.
Stowers was apprehended by Charleston Police that same night on charges of malicious wounding and is being held at the South Central Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
The victim’s current condition, and the condition of her unborn baby, has not been released.
