Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash Sunday in Detroit

A man wearing all black clothing was hit by a person driving a black pickup truck at West 8 Mile and Rosemont early Sunday.
Detroit police are investigating two separate hit-and-run crashes that left one person dead and another critically injured Sunday morning.
In the first incident, a pedestrian wearing black clothes was hit by a person driving a black pickup truck at West 8 Mile and Rosemont around 1:25 a.m., police said in an incident report.
The pedestrian, described as a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The driver, who was traveling east on West 8 Mile, did not stop.

About two hours later another hit-and-run crash occurred in Detroit.
A 28-year-old man in a Chrysler 200 collided with another car at Harper and Whittier, on the city’s east side around 3:45 a.m. He was taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition.
The second car left the scene, and details of the crash are unclear, police said.
