HMD Global recently started sending out invites for the India launch of its upcoming smartphone lineup. The company has now started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update for its Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones in various countries including India.
NEW DELHI: HMD Global recently started sending out invites for the India launch of its upcoming smartphone lineup. The company has now started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update for its Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones in various countries including India.
The Android 8.1 Oreo update brings some new features like Neural Networks API, hamburger emoji fix and developer APIs. Along with this, the update also incorporates bug fixes, latest security patches and optimizations.
After the update, the smartphones will also get battery saving navigation buttons, new settings menu, redesigned power menu and Bluetooth battery percentage.
The Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 Android 8.1 Oreo update weighs 866MB and 933MB in size respectively. The company has also confirmed that it will be soon rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update for its Nokia 2 and Nokia 3 smartphones.
Recently, HDM Global the company that hold the licence to manufacture Nokia branded smartphones has started sending out invites for a launch event in India on April 4. It is expected that the company might launch its latest smartphone lineup which it unveiled at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.
It is expected that the company might launch the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018) at the event.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is latest flagship smartphone of the company. Successor to the last year launched Nokia 8, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system and offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The device sports a edge-to-edge 5.5-inch pOLED 2K display, which is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
Made using 6000 series aluminium, the smartphone features dual rear cameras (12MP+13MP) with ZEISS optics. It also has a Pro Camera mode, which looks a lot like the old Lumia camera UI. In addition to this, the handset brings the Dual-Sight camera tech onboard as well.
