This Artifacts guide to the highly anticipated God of War, which was finally released today, will show where to find artifacts in the first two missions in the game.
The highly anticipated God of War was finally released today and the game has received mostly great reviews and responses from fans and critics so far. God of War fans all over the world are currently enjoying this critically acclaimed game on PlayStation 4 for the first time today. Collecting Artifacts in the game expands on the lore and they can also be sold for Hacksilver, which is God of War’s in-game currency that Kratos uses to upgrade his gear and buy new toys, so they are items well worth looking for.
The Lost Toys Artifacts are the first type of artifacts that can be found in the game and there are 4 of them. They are from the first mission in the game titled “The Marked Trees.” The first Lost Toy Artifact can be found in the yard where Kratos and Atreus live. Before you go through the gate with Atreus, turn right toward the wall and you will see the artifact lying there.
The second Lost Toy Artifact can be found right after following Atreus through the gate when they leave their home during the quest. It looks like a toy boat and will be at the base of the stairs that Kratos encounters next.
A third Lost Toy Artifact can be found in a side area after reaching an open temple foyer area. In this area Atreus will want to go left, but go right instead and continue through this area until you see a chain. Use the chain to descend into the ravine and this is where you can find the third Artifact that resembles a horse.
Finally, the last Lost Toy Artifact can be found after entering the temple and going down some stairs. If you turn right at the bottom of the stairs, and head outside to face some wolves, you will find an artifact that looks like a soldier holding two spears after killing them.
In addition to the Lost Toy Artifacts, there are also 6 Faces of Magic Artifacts that have been found so far, and they appear in the second mission called “Path to the Mountain.” These artifacts are a series of masks that are usually near a dead body. The first Faces of Magic Artifacts only appears after the mission starts, where Atreus and Kratos will be ambushed by a band of men. Kill all the men, climb up the chain, and then look for another chain to climb down. After climbing down, follow the path where you will find a dead knight with the Faces of Magic Artifact lying at his feet.
The second Faces of Magic Artifact can be found after upgrading Kratos’ Leviathan axe and defeating the enemies. Go into the forest on the right and then find the ledge to drop down. There you will find a knight slumped over, with the Faces of Magic Artifact lying at his feet.
The third Faces of Magic Artifact can be found after speaking with Brok for the first time. If you head through the new area, you will encounter spiked walls and roof. You need to raise the spiky roof and go to the other side, where you will find the Artifact near the body on the ground before you climb out into the open.
A fourth Faces of Magic Artifact can be found almost immediately after you exit the cave with the spiky traps. If you follow the edge of the cliff around, you will find a body slumped by a few trees, that will have the artifact at its feet.
To find the fifth Faces of Magic Artifact, you will need to unlock the spinning-disc door that is marked by two large statues. If you head into the cave and stick to the left, you will find runes painted on rocks that lead to a small pool of water. The mask can be found in the water.
The final Faces of Magic Artifact is located shortly after Kratos and Atreus find their boar and attempt to pierce its hide with an arrow. Drop down into the burned down village and head left, and you will find a man pinned to a tree. Across from him is a hut, and behind this hut you will find the artifact.
There might be more Artifacts in the game, and we are excited to discover what they are and where to find them. So far, the game is certainly making a good impression and has a lot to offer for fans, such as new enemy types, outstanding graphics, and a detailed and emotive lead character.
God of War is now available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
