After limping to the regular season finish line, Golden State has hit its stride.
The Warriors dominated the Spurs for the third-straight game Thursday in San Antonio, shooting 51 percent from the field in a 110-97 win to take a 3-0 lead in the first-round series. Kevin Durant led the way with 26 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
The Warriors finished with six players in double figures, including newcomer Quinn Cook, who scored 12 points and three boards in 21 minutes. Klay Thompson chipped in 19 points, and Shaun Livingston added 16 of his own.

The Spurs were without Gregg Popovich one day after the head coach’s wife passed away after dealing with an undisclosed long-term illness. Assistant Ettore Messina led San Antonio in Popovich’s stead.
LaMarcus Aldridge was the lone offensive bright spot for the Spurs, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. As a team, San Antonio shot 42 percent on the night.
The Warriors did struggle a bit from the 3-point line, shooting 31 percent from deep. They shot 45 percent from behind the arc in Game 1 and 48 percent in Game 2. After the game, Thompson said they won’t be deterred by the misses.
“The 3s not going… we’ve just got to continue moving the ball and get open looks,” he said.
When asked about the team’s approach heading into Game 4 with a potential sweep on the table, Thompson said getting healthy is the No. 1 concern.
“Our motivation is not to come back,” he said. “Limit our road travel, expand our time to rest.”
If the Warriors finish off the Spurs, they will likely face the New Orleans Pelicans, who hold a 3-0 over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Game 4 against the Spurs tips off at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in San Antonio.
