For the past couple of years, Nintendo has offered quite an experience at its E3 booth. However, this year, things have changed, with the company debuting a stripped-down feel, focusing more on games.
Nintendo was in quite a pickle a few years back before the announcement of its Switch console. During those dark times, there really wasn’t much to be excited about from the company, yet it managed to outshine its competitors when it came to E3, by having a very well thought out experience at its booth. This year, things have drastically changed, with Nintendo’s E3 booth shedding the fluff from previous years and instead, giving visitors ample demo kiosks to enjoy all of its important titles.
Despite there being plenty of kiosks, there were still lines wrapped around the booth, filled with eager fans waiting to get a taste of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, Fortnite, and more. Of course, things wouldn’t be complete without having plenty of physical props from its newly announced title, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. By walking around the booth, one could discover all kinds of different clothing, weapons, and more from various characters in the game.
While it didn’t make its debut at E3, Nintendo also had various demo kiosks dedicated to Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee!
While the booth might not be an immersive experience as it has been in the past, a lot has changed over the span of a couple years for Nintendo. Rather than dazzle fans with a bit of fun, the company now has a potent weapon to show off, along with quite a bit of artillery.
