The ugly spat between Musk and Unsworth reportedly started when the Briton in an interview to CNN called Musk’s submarine rescue plan a PR stunt.
The Boring Company founder Elon Musk on Wednesday apologised to the British diver, Vern Unsworth, who helped in rescuing the 12 boys stuck inside a cave in Thailand after calling him a «pedo guy» on Twitter.
«His actions against me do not justify my actions against him, and for that I apologize to Mr. Unsworth and to the companies I represent as leader. The fault is mine and mine alone,» Musk wrote in a tweet.
The ugly spat between Musk and Unsworth reportedly started when the Briton in an interview to CNN called Musk’s submarine rescue plan a PR stunt. «The submarine, I believe, was about 5 foot 6 long, rigid, so it wouldn’t have gone around corners or round any obstacles. It wouldn’t have made the first 50 meters into the cave from the dive start point. It was just a PR stunt. Just a PR stunt,» he said adding that Musk ‘should stick the submarine where it hurts’.
This did not go well with the SpaceX founder who in one of the tweets asked Unsworth to share the final rescue subsequently calling the British diver who led the rescue mission a pedophile. «You know what, don’t bother showing the video. We will make one of the mini-sub/pod going all the way to Cave 5 no problemo. Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it,» he wrote in a tweet.
But Musk didn’t stop right there. When the tweeps lashed out at him for his derogatory comment he went on to say that «Bet ya a signed dollar it’s true». However, he later deleted all the tweets from the platform.
Reacting to the comment, Unsworth told The Guardian that he was considering a legal action against Musk. And now, just days after the spat took an ugly on the social media Musk took to Twitter to issue an apology.

Meanwhile Unsworth has declined to comment on the incident. «I am aware of his apology, and no further comment,» Unsworth told Reuters. The British diver also declined to comment on if he was still considering a legal action or planning to go for a financial settlement.
