After launching its flagship device the Galaxy Note9 at a high-flying event in New York yesterday, Samsung announced that the device is available for pre-orders in India. Today, we have access to all the information that you will need if you are considering the Galaxy Note 9 as your next flagship.
Samsung is offering a number of launch offers. If you buy from Paytm Mall, you can get a cashback of Rs.6,000. In case you own either an HDFC Bank credit or debit card, or you have HDFC Consumer Durable loans (CD Loans), you can get a cashback of Rs.6,000.
Samsung is also offering a Samsung Upgrade Program under which you can upgrade your old device for the Galaxy Note 9 device. The Program offers an upgrade bonus of Rs.6,000 on exchange of the old device, and you will have to pay the remaining amount of the exchange value.
The device will be available at prices starting Rs.67,900. The company has also announced incentives for those who make pre-orders on this device. Customers will get a chance to own a Samsung Gear Sport smartwatch for Rs.4,999 instead of the actual cost price of Rs.22,990.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be available for pre-orders starting August 10 until August 21. The standard sale will begin on August 22. Buyers can also opt for no-cost EMIs on credit cards and Bajaj FinServ cards. Both Amazon and Flipkart should start taking pre-orders soon.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 sports a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display with 516PPI and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top of it for protection against scratches. Under the hood, the device is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with Adreno 630 GPU. Few handsets will come with an Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor with Mali G72MP18 GPU. The phone is being offered in two configurations – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 512GB storage. You can further expand the storage up to 1TB via microSD card.
Concerning optics, the phone comes with a 12MP + 12MP “intelligent” dual-camera setup with dual optical image stabilisation. The primary wide-angle lens features f/1.5/f/2.4 dual-aperture and Dual Pixel AF. The phone also houses AI-powered scene recognition, which optimises camera settings for flawless shots. On the front is an 8MP AF sensor with an f/1.7 aperture.
Connectivity options on the Note 9 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band VHT MU-MMO, 1024 QAM, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, ANT+, USB Type-C, NFC, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, and MST. Unlocking options include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, iris scanner, and facial recognition. Additionally, the phone also includes ‘Intelligent Scan’ that combines iris scan and face recognition for enhanced authentication services. The Galaxy Note 9 also comes pre-loaded with Samsung apps like Samsung Health, Samsung Pay, and the Knox security platform. You also get a better and more efficient Bixby Assistant.
As 4000mAh battery backs the device, which is claimed by the company to run add-day long. It supports both wired and wireless fast charging. The phone also boasts AKG-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support to offer louder sound output.
One of the most important features on the Note 9 is its S-Pen, which comes with Bluetooth connectivity now. Users can use the S-Pen for controlling capturing snaps, flipping through PowerPoint slides, and more. The S Pen charges to full in just 40 seconds simply by inserting it inside the Galaxy Note 9.
