Some wild and crazy things can happen when you’re out there on the road. Make sure you can capture t
We have all had to stop for ducks to cross the road, but have you ever witnessed a crossing of peacocks before? A driver in Central Texas had an interesting experience when a group of peacocks ran onto the road in 2017. Everyone got home safe, though.
Have you ever wondered what your car mechanic actually does behind the scenes? One customer had the great idea to keep his dash cam on while his car was being serviced, and we finally learned the truth about what some mechanics do when you’re not looking.
Over the course of the video, the car was seemingly worked on for only a few minutes, which somehow cost hundreds of dollars. What’s even worse is that the workers then took the car out for a spin, picking up some ice cream at the local Wendy’s, and speeding around the neighborhood, Ferris Bueller -style. It’s a good thing the cameras were rolling because the customer would never have known otherwise. Do you trust your mechanic?
Automobiles use combustion to make them move long distances over short periods of time. Anytime you’re burning fuel, there’s always the risk that things will backfire. Sometimes that means a car can catch fire and explode, but in this case we’re talking about a different kind of explosion altogether.
Sewage trucks transport human waste until it can be disposed of properly. It’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always run as smoothly as we’d like. Perhaps in the video above, things run a little too smoothly, if you catch our meaning. While sitting at a light, this sewage truck actually suffers a very different kind of explosion. The pressure inside the tanks becomes too strong to contain, resulting in an outpouring of waste all over the road.
Imagine being stuck in that situation in one of the nearby vehicles? Thankfully everyone had their windows rolled up, otherwise it would have gotten bad.
There are all sorts of hazards that can strike while you’re on the road. A stampede of bison, though? That’s hardly something you can predict when you’re traveling, so it’s a good thing this driver had their own dash cam to record this amazing sight.
Have you ever been driving around looking for a particular destination, and then actually forget to pay attention to your surroundings? That’s what happened to these two women from Alabama in late 2016 when they went out looking for a candle supplies store. They were so busy looking for the store that they drove the car right into a loading dock. The car probably got messed up from falling from such a height, but thankfully they came out of it alright.
As hilarious as this is to watch, just remember to keep your eyes on the road. We have GPS for a reason!
Parking your car can be difficult sometimes. Weird angles and unfavorable conditions can make maneuvering your vehicle a chore. Now imagine you have to park an 18-wheeler in a parking lot filled with them and not a lot of room to move. That’s what happened in 2015 when a driver came to this truck stop, and it was not pretty.
While the owner of the dash cam snoozed, this driver struggled to get their truck into a parking spot, slamming into multiple trucks before everything was said and done. The entire parking lot had to get together and help this guy figure out how to park his truck.
There are some people who are very into their car, then there are those who turn their vehicles into tricked-out joyrides. In the dash cam video above, it’s obvious that we’re looking at the latter. The hydraulics on this car are crazy enough to stop traffic, and not just because it’s kind of in the way. Imagine cruising down the road and suddenly seeing someone boost their car up like this.
Space exploration is pretty cool, but don’t let it distract you while you’re driving. SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in December 2017 carrying 10 satellites to low-Earth orbit and gave California residents a show. It was quite the sight, but was also pretty distracting for drivers on the road, resulting in a car accident. Eyes on the road, people.
Did you know that it is legal to ride a horse in the middle of the street? It might seem weird that two folks would just come in on their horses, especially when you’re in an urban environment, but it’s perfectly legal. This will make driving even more of a challenge now that you know you have to look out for riders on horseback.
This looks like something straight of out of a Mario Kart game. This dash cam from Taiwan shows a car nearly getting flattened by a runaway boulder. Remember, when you see a warning sign on the road that signals falling rocks, this is what they mean. You’re supposed to look left and right when you drive, but don’t forget to look up on occasion.
