Tributes abound on the 75th anniversary of the D-Day operation, when Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy in Nazi-occupied France in World War II. From Bedford, Virginia, home of the National D-Day Memorial, to Normandy, where President Donald Trump offered remarks along with French President Emmanuel Macron, the legacy of D-Day carries on. Not to be outdone, a 97-year-old veteran parachuted into Normandy again to commemorate. «You are among the very greatest Americans who will ever live,» Trump told 170 WWII veterans at a ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.
