In the past seven days, the county has announced 79 deaths – the most in one week.
The Orange County Health Care Agency reported another 911 new cases of the coronavirus as of Wednesday, July 15, pushing Orange County’s total to 27,031 since local testing began in March.
There were 22 new deaths reported Wednesday, bringing the total number of Orange County residents who have died to 455. In the past seven days, the county has announced 79 deaths – the most in one week. The previous high was 67 deaths reported between June 24 and June 30.
The data on deaths in the county is compiled from death certificates or gathered through the course of case investigation and can take weeks to process, officials say.
