The 2020 season has already set records.
The official forecast from the U. S. government is that the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season will be one for the history books, with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration saying Thursday there could be as many as 25 named storms, which would be the second-most on record. There are only 21 names assigned for storms each season. If more than 21 form, storms will be named after letters of the Greek alphabet. That’s happened only once in history—2005.
