The first complete version of Windows 11 will begin rolling out on 5 October, but there’s a simple way to install the new OS right now — here’s how.
Windows 11 is just days away, with Microsoft gearing up to release its new operating system on 5 October. That’s when we’ll see the first hardware running Windows 11 out of the box, and free upgrades from Windows 10 will get underway. It may be several months before the OS becomes available for your device, though. The upgrade is being delivered to Windows 10 users in several waves — if you’re running older hardware, you may be waiting until well into 2022 for it to arrive. However, provided your PC or laptop meets Windows 11’s complex hardware requirements, there’s a way to get that final version right now. As with the beta, it involves the Windows Insider Program. On 23 September, Microsoft moved Build 22000.194 into the Release Preview Channel. That’s one of the last stages before general availability.
