Are you a YouTube TV subscriber? There’s potentially bad news as you might lose a swathe of channels after today.
Google revealed that YouTube TV might lose Paramount content after February 13.
The company said it’s been unable to reach an agreement with Paramount to keep the channels but that negotiations were still ongoing.
Google has since signed a new deal with Paramount to keep content on YouTube TV.
Update: February 17, 2025 (12:50 AM ET): Google revealed last week that YouTube TV might lose Paramount content as the two companies failed to reach an agreement. Google then said it reached a “short-term extension” with the content provider pending negotiations for a longer-term deal.
Fortunately, there’s now some good news. Google has confirmed that it’s reached a deal to continue carrying Paramount on YouTube TV.
“With this agreement, YouTube TV will continue to offer 100+ channels and add-ons including Paramount Plus with SHOWTIME and will enable more user choice in the future,” the company explained on its blog.
