The pop star is «finalizing» a contract to headline the halftime show at February’s NFL title game, Us Weekly reported.
«As of right now, it will just be Justin — no surprise performers,» a source told the magazine.
It’s a surprising choice, considering Timberlake’s last Super Bowl performance in 2004 was the source of enormous uproar and controversy. During that unforgettable show, Timberlake ripped away a piece of Janet Jackson’s outfit, exposing her right breast as his song «Rock Your Body» came to a close.

A performance at this year’s Super Bowl would be Timberlake’s first at the game since that 2004 event.
The Super Bowl is the most-viewed TV program every year, and the halftime show generally draws even more eyes than the game.
