CNN film puts chef Jeremiah Tower in the spotlight; AMC doc explores the world of comic books
SUNDAY
•New film “Anthony Bourdain Presents Jeremiah Tower: The Last Magnificent” explores the life and legacy of the celebrated chef who changed the American palate and influenced generations of chefs and restaurants that still follow in his footsteps. 9 p.m., CNN.
•School is about to be out for good as “Vice Principals” completes its twisted, two-season run. But first, we expect a wild finish for Neal Gamby (Danny McBride) and Lee Russell (Walton Goggins). 10:35 p.m., HBO.
•“AMC Visionaries: Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics” is a documentary series in which “The Walking Dead” creator recalls the stories, people and events that have transformed the world of comic books. Included are interviews with Stan Lee, Patty Jenkins, Lynda Carter, Kevin Smith, J. K. Simmons, Michelle Rodriguez and Todd McFarlane. 11 p.m., AMC.
MONDAY
•It’s Night 1 of the playoffs on “The Voice.” Looking to land a spot in the live shows, the remaining artists perform in front of coaches Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Hudson and Shelton also reveal their comeback artists. 8 p.m., NBC.
•Victoria Justice guest stars in the Season 2 premiere of the sitcom “Man with a Plan.” She plays a pretty young babysitter who — uh oh — has the hots for Adam (Matt LeBlanc). 8:30 p.m., CBS.
TUESDAY
On “Bull,” our main man agrees to help the parents of a former employee sue a drug company after their son commits suicide during a drug trial. But things get complicated when the company brings in a trial scientist, played by Archie Panjabi (“The Good Wife”). 9 p.m., CBS.
WEDNESDAY
On a holiday episode of “Modern Family,” Jay makes a Thanksgiving toast honoring everyone on their recent successes, and Phil works hard to master a classic magic trick to prove that he’s not the family failure. 9 p.m., ABC.
THURSDAY
At this point, can “Scandal” really do anything more to blow your mind? The producers promise tonight’s winter finale will be stuffed with “shocking revelations and jaw-dropping events that will leave everyone reeling.” 9 p.m., ABC.
FRIDAY
“20/20” presents the incredible journey of a family with a boy born with a rare facial condition. The story of 13-year-old Nathaniel Newman closely resembles that of the main character in upcoming big-screen film “Wonder.” 10 p.m., ABC.
SATURDAY
•The true-crime documentary series “Cold Blooded: The Clutter Family Murders” recalls the quadruple murder in 1959 that rocked the small farming community of Holcomb, Kan., and was the basis for Truman Capote’s “In Cold Blood.” 9 p.m., Sundance TV.
•Do you miss Jon Stewart? The former “Daily Show” wise guy returns to our television screens to host “Night of Too Many Stars: America Unites for Autism Programs” from the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The evening will feature stand-up performances, sketches and short films, with appearances by, among others, J. Abrams, Louis C. K., Stephen Colbert, Abbi Jacobson, Jordan Klepper, Howie Mandel, Olivia Munn, John Oliver, Chris Rock and Ben Stiller. 8 p.m. Saturday, HBO.
