On Monday\u2019s \u201cToday\u201d show, Darius Rucker and the rest of the quartet said they are headed back to the studio to record a new album, which they\u2019ll take on tour in 2019 along with their former hits. If that news does not excite you, well then, you and me, we come from different worlds.

Hootie & the Blowfish\u2019s 1994 debut album, \u201cCracked Rear View\u201d is the 19th-best-selling album of all time in the United States, and was certified platinum 21 times. The release included four hit singles: \u201cOnly Wanna Be With You,\u201d \u201cLet Her Cry,\u201d \u201cHold My Hand\u201d and \u201cTime.\u201d
In 1996, the guys won both of the Grammys for which they were nominated: Best New Artist, and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for \u201cLet Her Cry.\u201d They also won an MTV Video Music Award and were nominated for two others.
Hootie & the Blowfish went on hiatus in 2008 so that lead singer Rucker could pursue a solo career. The band reunited here and there on special occasions.<\/p>\n
