Coulter, a loyal Trump supporter, slammed the president for falsely claiming large sections of the wall are already being built.<\/b>
\nConservative commentator Ann Coulter lashed out at President Donald Trump for telling his supporters that sections of his proposed border wall are already built.
On Tuesday, Coulter shared to Twitter a Washington Post Fact Checker article titled \u201cPresident Trump says his \u2018beautiful wall\u2019 is being built. Nope,\u201d which stated that Trump has proclaimed the wall is being built, when in reality, it isn\u2019t.
\u201cThe White House failed miserably to achieve its objectives on funding for a border wall, receiving relative peanuts,\u201d the article read. \u201cIt sought $25 billion but ended up with 5 percent of that. Moreover, the money came with strings attached so that it could be used only for fencing, not the \u2018great\u2019 and \u2018beautiful wall\u2019 promised by Trump.\u201d
Alongside her tweet of the article, Coulter also wrote: \u201cEven a Washington Post reporter knows that not 1 inch of Trump’s wall has been built. Does Trump think his supporters are dumber than a WaPo reporter?\u201d
Earlier today, Trump, incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the California Democrat, and Senator Chuck Schumer, the Democrat from New York, engaged in a heated fight at the Oval Office over the president\u2019s misleading facts about the wall.
\u201cA lot of the wall is built, a lot of people don\u2019t know that. A lot of wall is renovated,\u201d Trump said. \u201cSome wall has been reinforced by our military. Our military has done a fantastic job. So the wall will get built.\u201d
Pelosi then attempts to urge Trump to \u201cwork together in a bipartisan way\u201d and from shutting down the government.
\u201cNancy, Nancy. We need border security. Need border security. People are flowing into our country, including terrorists. We have terrorists. We caught 10 terrorists over the last very short period of time. 10,\u201d Trump said.
\u201cThese are very serious people. Our border agents, all of our law enforcement, has been incredible what they\u2019ve done. But we have caught 10 terrorists. These are people that were looking to do harm. We need the wall. We need it more than anything. We need border security, of which the wall is just a piece. Chuck, did you want to say something?\u201d
Schumer responded: \u201cHere\u2019s what I want to say\u2014we have a lot of disagreements here. The Washington Post today gave you a whole lot of Pinocchio\u2019s because they say you constantly misstate how much of the wall is built and how much is there.\u201d
