\nHardline Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro praised President Trump and \u201ctraditional family lifestyles,\u201d and railed against political correctness and \u201cfake news\u201d during an appearance at the White House Tuesday \u2014 drawing praise from the commander-in-chief.
\u201cMay I say that Brazil and the United States stand side by side in their efforts to ensure liberties and respect to traditional family lifestyles with respect to God our creator\u2026 and against fake news,\u201d said Bolsonaro, who has a history of making anti-LGBTQ remarks and decrying \u201cpolitical correctness.\u201d
He cited Ronald Reagan, as well as Trump, as role models, and said he wanted to make Brazil great \u2014 echoing the president\u2019s MAGA slogan.
\u201cThe United States changed in 2017 and Brazil has just started to change now. We stand together for the ultimate benefit of our two nations. We want to have a great America, yes, and we want to have a great Brazil,\u201d he continued.

Trump replied: \u201cI\u2019m very proud to hear the president use the term,\u201d before launching another attack on social media companies, which he claims censor Republicans and promote Democrats.
Bolsonaro\u2019s ode to \u201ctraditional family lifestyles\u201d reflected his views on homosexuality.
In 2011, he said he\u2019d rather see his own son die in a car crash than learn that he was gay.
\u201cI would be incapable of loving a homosexual son. I\u2019m not going to be a hypocrite: I\u2019d rather my son died in an accident than showed up with some bloke with a mustache,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
