Pok\u00e9mon GO has delayed the start of its Go Battle League Season 2.<\/b>
\nIt\u2019s a good thing that Pok\u00e9mon GO released battle league before the lockdown started, because it\u2019s one of the most viable ways to play this game without leaving the house. We had been preparing for the launch of GO Battle League season 2 earlier in the week, but it seems that an unknown technical glitch\u2014battling in this game isn\u2019t exactly a smooth operation\u2014has slowed things down, and the new season has been delayed:
There\u2019s no official release date on the new season, and frankly I hope I get at least a day or two out of it: I\u2019d like to get a few more levels out of the thing. Seasons in this game are not quite such big operations as they are in most other competitive games, but they do still offer a kind of structure for the game\u2019s nascent PvP scene. I also still need to evolve my Scraggy, and both the Rare Candy and the Scraggy encounters are useful for that.
I took a bit of a break from Go League Season 1, but I\u2019ve gotten back into it in the past few days, trying to scrape together a few ranks before the end of the season. But because I\u2019m still relatively low rank, I\u2019ve been able to blow through battles with ease, coming up against some 500 CP competitors that I feel almost bad about stomping.
We\u2019ll see what happens when we get to Battle League Season 2. One thing I think that Niantic needs to look at is how it rolls out the different leagues: every player is bound to have a league they prefer over the others, and spending long periods of the season with only one league at a time means that people are bound to check out at some point. I\u2019d prefer that they were all available with some sort of league-specific goals or rewards to encourage people to branch out.
Hopefully this thing will be up and running soon. When it does, we\u2019ll have a new schedule and list of rewards for you, and possibly some changes to the meta with some new moves and tweaks.<\/p>\n
