But we also can’t ignore those unforgettable sex scenes, which Decider’s Meghan O’Keefe praised as the “steamiest bodice-ripping sex scenes this side of Outlander.” And thanks to a new Grazia interview with series star Phoebe Dynevor, per ET Canada, we got some behind-the-scenes knowledge about the raunchiest parts of the show. The secret to getting those sex scenes just right was choreography, Dynevor explained, telling the magazine that they were planned out “like a stunt, or a dance” with the help of an intimacy coordinator, who helped make the racy moments feel “safe and fun.” The Bridgerton star described her first sex scene, “where Simon is going down on Daphne,” as “so great.” “It’s crazy to me that hasn’t been there in the past,” Dynevor added, referring to the intimacy coordinator on set. “I’ve done sex scenes before that I can’t believe I did: it was only five or six years ago, but it would not be allowed now.” In an interview with Decider earlier this month, Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen also praised the show’s “incredible intimacy coordinator” for helping pull off the sex scenes. “It was all about the comfort of our actors and really making sure they felt comfortable, and they were only doing and taking things as far as they wanted to take them,” Van Dusen said. Jonathan Bailey, who stars as Anthony Bridgerton, added that it was important for him to work on a series where everyone feels empowered, particularly the women on set. “It was a good life experience, really, to know that you have to sort of take down the britches and take one for the team,” he told Decider, adding, “It’s really important to show sexuality in everyone. And I think women, just as much as men, want sex; and they want it in a way that they can have it.” Stream Bridgerton on Netflix

We love Bridgerton for many reasons: the gossip and drama, the production quality, the costuming.
