As you could easily guess by simply reading the name of the extension, its purpose is to bring iCloud passwords to the world of Windows. So if you previously saved your passwords with Safari in Apple’s cloud, now you can access them on a Windows device using Google Chrome. “iCloud Passwords allows you to use the same strong Safari passwords you create on your Apple device, with Chrome on Windows,” Apple explains. Of course, the extension doesn’t work only on Google Chrome but on the entire army of Chromium-powered browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Vivaldi, Opera and others. So if you want a more native Windows experience, you can very well install the extension on Microsoft Edge, which is now the default browser on Windows 10. “iCloud Passwords is a Chrome extension for Windows users that allows you to use the same strong Safari passwords you create on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac when visiting websites in Chrome on your Windows PC. iCloud Passwords also saves any new passwords you create in Chrome to your iCloud Keychain so that it is also available on your Apple devices,” the Cupertino-based tech giant explains. Needless to say, the extension is completely free of charge, and it can be installed in a Chromium-powered browser from this page. iCloud for Windows has also been updated with a new section called Passwords that you can see when installing the app on Microsoft’s operating system. And with this extension, all your passwords come to a Chromium browser, making the life of an Apple user on Windows a lot easier overall.

Cupertino brings another piece of software to Windows PCs Apple has silently released the iCloud Passwords extension for Chrome on Windows, finally giving Microsoft users a way to access the passwords they store in the cloud on Apple’s services.
